About

Hello,

My name is Dave Meister and I am currently the Director of Paris Cooperative High School (PCHS) in Paris, Illinois.  PCHS is a one of a kind high school, as we are the only cooperative high school in the state.  We are governed by two school districts who each have three members on our Board of Education.  As director, I serve as the Board’s chief executive officer. In addition I also am responsible for the duties of the building principal.

I began my career in education as a teacher at Paris High School.  I taught Contemporary Problems, United States History, European History, World History, and Psychology.  I also coached boys basketball, boys baseball, track and girls softball. In 1998 I accepted my first administrative position as the principal of two elementary in schools here in Paris.  In 2001 I was selected to serve as principal at Paris High School.  On July 1, 2009 I was named the first Director for Paris Cooperative High School.  I have a passion for the use of technology to enhance learning and have authored several grants that have infused more than $300,000 into our local schools to enhance our infrastructure.

I am married to Marianne McIntosh Meister (21 years this past December) and we have two children: Jacob 15 and Molly 13.   Outside of education and computers, my interests include running, golfing, and following my children to their many events.

Thank you for your workshop yesterday. My eyes have been opened to many new and exciting tools. I will play with them this weekend. I was wondering if you could give me the URL for the YouTube video of the guy drawing the way we need to learn in the 21st century?… The one with the turtles…sorry I thought I could pull it up but I am blocked at work.
    Again, many thanks for sharing.
    Gina
