My comments in orange…
A. Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that address content standards and student technology standards.
Students must learn to use technology tools within the context of both content areas and real world applications. Our students must learn to collaborate and create with others using digital media!
B. Use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students. Students do not respond as well to teacher centered activities as they do to learning environments where they are empowered to direct their own learning. We set the parameters and guide them though the learning events.
C. Apply technology to develop students’ higher-order skills and creativity.
Students have created a lot of original content using a variety of digital media in several classes this year. They have learned to manage various tasks within groups while they evaluate content and synthesize ideas. It is also these classes that the students identify wanting to attend the most. These are the classes we had to turn students away from during registration because there are not enough seats!
D.Manage student learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment.
I had one staff member this year really step out on a limb to have her students create projects using a medium she was not totally comfortable with. She found that management is a challenge but it the end, the students learned a lot about their subject and about using digital tools!
